Plaxedes Banda known on stage as Mai Banda, the International Christian singer and songwriter was born on December 12th, 1976 in Waterfalls, Harare. Plaxedes was raised by both parents Joshua and Sophia Tangawabaiwa. She started singing at a tender age of 5; in the church she grew up in. After high school in 1996, Mai Banda moved to USA to pursue her education and acquired an MBA degree at Texas Women’s University which landed her a career in the finance industry. She has been married to Douglas Banda for 15 years who is her Manager, Promoter and biggest fan. They have 3 wonderful children together. Their kids are Douglas JR Banda who is 13 years old, Terrence Banda 10 years old and their only princess, Tiara Banda who is 5 years old.
