A Sacred Silence tells the story of twenty-four-year-old Eliza, who is finally ready to move beyond the pain of losing her mother to cancer, when she receives an odd phone call from the attorney of her deceased grandmother that will propel her into a deeper exploration of grief and love. As long-hidden secrets resurface, the legacy of her family could be at stake.
Eliza’s journey takes her back to her grandmother’s mysterious past at the time of the Mexican Revolution forces her to face the truth her beloved grandmother silently protected for decades. As the past and present collide, Eliza must somehow come to terms with the intermingling of love and grief, for the sake of her family’s legacy and her own heart.
A family’s legacy is not defined by the circumstances surrounding it, but in how individuals respond to the struggles they face,” explains Kinsel. “I wanted to share a story that conveys the truth that love transcends all situations and challenges because it protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres. Love never fails.”
Ashlee lives in San Antonio, Tex., with her husband and their three children, and a menagerie of pets. She works alongside her husband in their ranching and wildlife business, making hay while the sun shines, writing when the sun sets, and leading a women’s Bible study.
