Rev. Dr. Donna Ghanney Interviews Christian Song Artist, Conrad Miller on The Kingdom Hour
Topic: Genuine Worship
Short Bio: Conrad Miller
Conrad Miller is an esteemed artist whose versatility and authentic personality has carved a permanent coveted space in Gospel music’s past, present and future. The Doylestown, PA resident, accomplished singer, composer, arranger and recording artist gained countless fans nationwide with his traditional soothing sound and hit singles from his 2009 debut solo project MY JOURNEY (produced by Grammy, Stellar and Dove Award winning producer Steven Ford) on his own Millcon Music label. “Amazing”, “Breathe On Me” and popular “Momma Prayed For Me” blared from radios all over the country.
His follow-up 2013 project, KEEP PRESSING, added a contemporary flair to the more traditional style that fans of Miller have been accustomed to. KEEP PRESSING (also produced by Steven Ford), included the feel-good title track “Keep Pressing” and the radio hit single “I Need You”. Spreading his musical wings a bit, Miller commissioned Ford to incorporate a bit of spice with lush, orchestral arrangements and full, bold instrumentation to the project. KEEP PRESSING contains a mix of soulful, heart-stirring songs “He’ll Never Let You Down”, classic favorite “Center of My Joy” and “Our Prayer”, inspired by THE LORD’s PRAYER.
Music has always been a part of Miller’s life. Born in North Little Rock, AR, the Grambling, LA native grew up playing piano and trumpet. While in school, he grew musically, singing in a variety of choirs and ensembles, playing in bands and jazz ensembles. He started an R&B group along with his brother Doug, an accomplished jazz saxophonist and member of The Count Basie Orchestra. Their group, The Soulful Seven, performed throughout the US over a five year span and eventually was signed to a recording contract with MGM Records, alongside label mates Lou Rawls, The Righteous Brothers and Donny & Marie Osmond.
Conrad garnered further musical training at Fort Hays Kansas State University. He went on to receive a full scholarship for graduate work in voice and opera at The University of Michigan. Conrad’s incredible talent has afforded him the opportunities to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York, the iconic Washington DC Kennedy Center and tours throughout Europe and the Canary Islands.
