The Master's Touch: Break That Habit! - "What Is A Habit?"

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts
--Ephesians 4:22-24 AKJV

Did you know that customs, traditions, and honoring societal events can often lead to developing ungodly
habits? There are good habits and bad habits. A custom that is in the Holy Bible is an example of a Godly
habit. For instance in Luke 4:14-16; (14 And Jesus returned to the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there
went out a fame of Him through all the region round about.15 And He taught in their synagogues, being
glorified of all. 16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He
went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read). Based on this scripture, we definitely
would say that the custom of Jesus to enter the synagogue on the Sabbath day, to read the Word of God was
a good custom or habit.

The question is what is a habit? According to the online Merriam-Webster Dictionary habit is defined as
"an acquired mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary". Many of us have habits
that we continue to follow on a regular basis and do not realize it is a habit. Habits are regular tendencies,
wants desires or practices. They are something that we are familiar with. We often do not know we are doing
it. An unforeseen rhythm is present with habits. We keep doing it even though we know it is bad for us. We
try to stop it and find it difficult to stop. Habits can determine how we react or respond to things on a regular
basis. It is sometimes our usual manner of doing things in a regular and repeated way of behavior.

A negative habit is something you want to stop doing. You desire for change but dark habitual forces inhibit
the change. These type of habits can lead to chemical dependency. This type of habit ultimately leads to
negative effects. In cases of this nature, the effects may set us on the opposite course that on the long run
prove deadly. However, the good news is the decision that you make within your soul (emotions, thoughts,
and desires) to let go that can break it. Even though it is diminishing or destroying you, you will continue
with the habit, until you choose to break it. Kingdom dimensional transformation is needed to break it.
A positive habit is something you do to support the purpose and destiny mandated in the Kingdom of God.
This type of habit ultimately produces positive effects that move us forwards because we are on the right
paths. People with positive or successful habits are normally successful in life.

Your conscious will bear witness to your spirit when you are enlightened or aware of your actions that are
promoted in your mind.

By now you may have discovered also that your habits can affect you internally and others when they are
exhibited externally.  This can and will change in the near future. Just continue the pace and remain focused
on your Kingdom mission and allow the Holy Spirit to transform you and renew you in the mind.

You may already know that there some actions that you take that you are not happy with or that someone
you have a relationship with does not favor them when they are acted out.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled
again with the yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5
